"Eucharistic Adoration for the Sanctification of Priests and Spiritual Maternity"

A document was released in 2007 form the Congregation Pro Clerics (The Congregation for the Clergy) entitled "Eucharistic Adoration for the Sanctification of Priests and Spiritual Maternity".  It states:  "In order to continually maintain a greater awareness of the ontological link between the Eucharist and the Priesthood, and in order to recognize the special maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary for each Priest, it is our intention to bring about a connection between perpetual Eucharistic adoration for sanctification of priests and the initiation of a commitment on the part of consecrated feminine souls following the typology of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Mother of the Eternal High Priest, and Helper in his work of Redemption- who might wish to spiritually adopt priests in order to help them with their self-offering, prayer and penance.  Adoration always involves an act of reparation for sins.  With that in mind, we suggest a particular intention in this regard".  It in no coincidence that this document was released on December 8, 2007 (The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary)!  Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI wholeheartedly endorses this calling.  Click on the link below to download more information:

Included are many inspiring stories of women (and young girls) who were "Spiritual Mothers for Priests". They include mothers, nuns, single women and children.

A particular story "Lu Monferrato" has inspired us to begin a "Chapter" of "Eucharistic Adoration for the Sanctification of Priests and Spiritual Maternity" here at St. Joseph Academy.  All mother and their children are welcome to join.  To participate in this ministry, please make a commitment to do the following:
*One hour of Eucharistic Adoration per week, with the intention for vocations of priests and spiritually adopting priests.  Included will be the intention that one or more of your sons or daughters will embrace the religious life.  We meet every Tuesday morning form 9:00- 10:00 am at St. Mark's Catholic Church (Chapel) if you would like to join us. Please bring your babies and toddlers with you!!! Don't worry if you think they will disturb anyone:  Quite the contrary... Jesus said "Let the little children come to Me".  what better way then in Adoration!  You are also welcome to make your Holy Hour at any time on any day.
*Offer Mass and Communion the first Sunday of each month for the above intentions.
*Recite the following prayer after Mass: "O God, grant that one of my sons may become a priest! (if you have a daughter you may say become a nun).  I myself want to live as a good Christian and want to guide my children always to do what is right, so that I may receive the grace, O God, to be allowed to give you a holy priest (or nun)! Amen"
